5 speed auto

I took my bike down powhite the other day to get some books for school on my bike and I thought it would be a smart idea to bring the smart tag for the tolls...turns out it only worked 2 outta 6 times!

Luckily I went into the 'full service' lane everytime just incase, and luckily I had some 1's in my back pocket. Man it was embarrassing! One time I got off the bike and walked around waving the damn smart tag like an idiot, still didnt work! Then one time I didnt even take it outta my jacket and it worked! But every other time I had to take my gloves off, get out the money, get the change, hold up the line.

Any ideas? What do you guys do for tolls?

There aren't any tolls down here. When I ride where there is a toll, I plan ahead. I'll put the ones in the pockets in my jacket. I had a small tank bag for shit like this on my old bike, but I rode a lot more then.

yeah If I know I am going to have tolls I either have the exact amount for each toll in separate pockets or just keep a roll of ones in a pocket.

i just keep a credit card in my pocket and use that line. it's real quick

Back when we had tolls here, I would run the small ones on the exits, or lean over and pick up a dime off the ground. The main one on I-44 (now 264) was a quarter, and one fit perfectly in the top of the fuel cap. On my 500, the tab faced backwards and about half the time I would lose the quarter down the front of me, so when I got there I couldn't find it anyway.

I hate tolls...waste of time. Them money never goes where they say it goes anyway. The ones we had were to build I-44 to the beachfront, and anyone who has ever ridden it knows that none of the money ever went into repairing it! It's the only interstate road that I have been on that has speed bumps...you will actually launch the bike airborne at 75 mph!!!

I go to the smart tag line, and act like i one of those confused people that didnt know it was a smart tag lane, and they let me pass for Free.99
