well i just bought a 06 nissan frontier ^^ yay for me..but now im curious on peoples ideas on homemade bike ramps. just sort of lazy goin to lowes/home depot myself to price out the goods so for anyone whos bored and made their own, how much did it cost and how stable is it..

I can't remember how much it cost But I had the kit from home depot. It wasn't expensive I still have it you can have it for 5 bucks if you want. I bought a folding aluminum ramp so I can shut the tailgate when I go to Mytrle Beach. I also Take the aluminum ramp inside the hotel at night , so If somebody wants to steal my bike they cant use my ramp..

a set of dual aluminum ramps from harbor freight is less than $50. If you have a 4wd or prerunner type truck they're steep because they're on the short side but if you have a normal low 2wd truck they would work fine. For the kits you're looking at $30 just for the board ends then you have to buy the boards and probably another kit so you can walk up with the bike. If I had to do it over again I'd buy the expensive but nice set from Home Depot or Lowes thats $120-150....I've done the wood board thing before and it sucks

actually, i thought shane's ramps were a pretty good deal, but like he said, they're a lil short if you have a 4wd that sits a lil higher. i normally just use a 2x10, but i've got alot of experience getting bikes in and out of trucks, you may want to get something wide enough to walk the bike allthe way up with if your not comfortable with such a narrow ramp.

I like the ramp I have but with a streetbike they may come close to scraping on the bottom. For $50 you can't go wrong

Buy the yellow fiberglass telescoping ramp from the depot it extends to 8 ft and telescopes in to 4 feet. Just make sure you use straps to hold it in place if you ride your bike up the ramp standing on the side or the ramp shoots out and bike falls haha. i have a custom dentjob on my tailgate from that.

i just bought two metal ramps that are 8 foot. they work great for everything.

i want something i can walk it up wif and walk it down wif easily, and anyone got any good suggestions on what to strap it down wif once its in the bed? and how much the strapper things ussually cost..i dont want to use just rope..i seen somethin where it fits on the handle grips or some shyt

I got some racheting tie-down straps. They have hooks on each end and you basically rachet it untill its tight. I've used them on both bikes, go-karts, everything really. They were about 20 bucks a pack I think.
