Default tire questions.

i need a new tire.(front) im a new rider and the bike has a pirrelli dragon supercorsa on it now. The bike is a Kawasaki ZX9-R. should i stick with the same tire since that is what i am use to? Or does it matter. What is a good tire? and where can i find this local?

since you are a new rider, maybe worth mentioning that when you get that new tire take it easy and don't lean it too much the first 100miles or so. they are greasy when new and you can end up biting shit in the blink of an eye.

and of course, absolutely no tire shine ever. but hopefully you knew that already.

It's highly recommended you match the front and rear tires to ensure the best possible handling for any tire set. This being said, check with EMC, Casey Cycle City, CycleGear, Sunrise, or any other local motorcycle shop to see if they have a 120/70/17 Supercorsa in stock. You'll be able to save yourself some money if you can pull the front wheel and take it in to wherever you decide to get your tire from, instead of taking them the entire bike.

Good luck!

well the dragon supercorsa tire by Pirelli is a Track orientented tire that is DOT approved for street use. In my opinion as far as price is concerned you are better off going with a Diablo Corsa III or even a Diablo Rosso if you aren't planning on taking it to the track any time soon. The Rosso will be more than enough. Your wallet is definetly better off trying to find these tires on the internet. I have DCIII's on my 750 and I shopped around and everyone wanted over $300 just for the tires alone. I found them online for $256 shipped to my door!! Although I do like to support local shops The economy just doesn't support them having good prices.

I had Dragon Supercorsas before and just got a set of Metzeler Sportec M3s. They're said to have good life and have worn pretty evenly so far (I commute more than anything). Oh, and I'm surprised no one commented on a new rider on a 9r lol.

The Pirelli DCIII Is probly the best all round tire. Its triple compound and is excellent on street and track. Th Rosso is a cheaper version with not as much grip. But by all means keep the same tire on front and back......
