tire choices
hey guys,
I'm looking to get some new rubber. the tires I have are, I think, either stock or....have been replaced only once in the bikes life time.
I've noticed a little bit of rubbing or feathering (it could be me pushing a little too hard in the corners) but I've been reading up on how tires wear down, even it they have been sitting there for a bit.
I know the bike sat for about 4 years or so in a garage, but the tires don't feel that sticky. Actually, there were a couple of times yesterday that I was pushing and could feel the back end loosen up.
The tires have a shitload of tread left, but it doesn't matter if the tire doesn't stick.
What do you like to use, what have you used and rated, and what do you hate?

Re: tire choices
oh, and it would probably help to tell you the tire sizes...since the 2CTS doesn't come in my size.

130/70-18 63h

Re: tire choices
yah your choices for tires will suck becouse of the size. look at the shinko podiums the have that size. the podiums have a OK radius and are sort of sticky. some of us ran them at deals gap and stuck great.

Re: tire choices
its a 96 yamaha seca 2.
I'm going to run over to Cycle Gear today (in SD) and see if they can cut me a good deal. Its going to be pouring the next 4 days, so its not like I'm going to miss out on the riding.
But I sure will miss the riding....
So, when I get the tires, next question: is there a break in time, break in procedure or do I just rock those bitches silly?
I remember my dad replaced a front tire on his Shadow one time and when he came out of a corner near the house, after about 20 minutes of riding, he low sided.
