As far as the front goes, my plan is to just slide the forks up the triples..

the problem with that is that the forks are going to hit the bottom of the handlebars before you get any significant lowering. Maybe an inch, at best. It's not like a bike with clip-ons where there's nothing above the fork caps. Even if you could pull the forks thru the trees enough, make sure the top of the lower leg doesn't hit the bottom tree at full compression, or you'll be shooting yourself in the foot.

swapping the rear shocks out for shorter shocks will keep it from bottoming out, cutting the springs shortens the effective travel of the shock, and will bottom out more easily the more you cut off of the spring.
A shorter shock will still have about the same travel as the stock shocks, but with an overall eye-to-eye distance that is shorter, it lowers the bike.

Beyond that, if you cut the shock springs, when/if you unload the rear suspension, you run the risk of losing the spring retainers when they top out, and that'll get real ugly....real fast.

If you're up to it, you can also move the lower shock mount farther back and/or the top mount farther forward, that'll lower the rear too, though it does change the leverage ratio on the shock a bit. Just don't go to crazy with that mod and it'll be fine.

honestly, I like the ride height on this. I have ridden that same model a million and six times, and it feels lower then you think. If dropped, even a little, it would be dragging around ever turn, like op has stated.

hmmm... I see what you're saying skr00z.... So, for the front, how would i internally lower the bike?.. Should i cut the springs?

I'm set on ape hangers, and im actually debating on whether i should wrap the pipes of flat black them. . . I bought the bike with intentions of flatblacking them. However, if i do, when and as i ride the bike they'll get chipped and the chrome is gonna show... and its gonna look like shyt.

This is where im sitting at right now

Skr00z.. Come to the rescue!

So, i need to replace a fork seal. . . As far as im concerned i simply take the cap off the forks, drain the oil, take the components off... pump pump pump a little oil pump pump pump... put the components back in the same way the came out and fill with X amount of oil... (at least something like that is what we did on my SV.

Question is, look at these caps!!! how do i take them off?.. there's a small lip but idk if that's how you pry them off... It also looks like i could possibly drain the oil from the bottom of the forks.. Is that what that is?

Please enlighten me...

ohh pics..

And this is what seems to be the drain plug.

that's not a lip, that's a circlip. You have to push down on the top of that cap to get the pressure off the clip, then you can pop that clip out, and it'll all come apart. I hate those kind of forks, lol. Getting them apart isn't so hard, getting them back together is a pain in the ass.

and yes, that is a drain screw at the bottom.
