Questions regarding insurance
I'm planning on picking up a bike here shortly. However, I've heard some horror stories with insane insurance costs. I've been looking at some gsxr & honda 600cc and zx6r 636cc. Any of you guys care to share what you're paying for insurance right now? This will be my first bike, I'm 26 yrs old, military, tickets within the last 3 yrs was a speeding ticket in August '06. I currently have auto insurance for two cars with Deerbrook Insurance which is a branch off Allstate Insurance.
From what some of my co-workers at work have been saying is that the cost of insurance is something to take into consideration when chosing a bike, especially a first bike.
Yeah this is pretty much a noob question but I am a noob when it comes to motorcycles. So whatever info you local riders can and would share would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Questions regarding insurance
23 nothing on my insurance in the past 4 years. I ride an 05 636 and pay 50 a month for collision and comprehension with State Farm. Best thing to do is just call and get quotes.

You will be surprised how cheap it is for bikes. Just driving like a fucktard and racking up tickets is why they pay more. 28 GMAC and $84 mo for two bikes, Harley and Kawi.

Re: Questions regarding insurance
Man I couldn't agree more, I just picked up my first bike and looked around for different quotes. I'm 23 with nothing on my record for the last 3 years, Geico quoted me almost $2000 !! annually, and Progressive was around $850 a year (for a CBR 600), both quotes were for the same full coverage including comp and collision, needless to say I went with progressive. A lot of my friends who ride have Progressive as well.

Re: Questions regarding insurance
I just got an exact quote for $25.18/month for full coverage
$100k -person
$300k -accident
$50k -property damage
That's with State Farm and the quote was for a '06 CBR600RR
