Parts Online or shop?
So I got my F2 running on the street today naked. It was pretty fun and scared at the same time for my first time riding. While taking off the Brake Caliper, the pads were almost nothing. Now when I get pads do I need to get a new rotor? or how does that work? Just slap on some new pads?
Where does everyone get parts at Online? I need to get new brakes pads and also a new rear brake line. I was thinking about getting a brake line from goodridge. Are there shops around here in NOVA that sell motorcycle parts? I've been to Fast Lane, but are there parts stores like Advance Auto Parts?
Thanks in advance,
Eddie

Re: Parts Online or shop?
There are a few online parts suppliers. Personally though, I buy 99% of my parts locally. If you're planning to do a lot of work yourself and are learning as you go, I'd recommend you do the same. Most shops don't mind giving you some friendly advice and troubleshooting help if you buy parts from them. But those guys can't stay in business if you buy parts online and then roll in looking for help.
As far as your rotor goes, it depends. If the rotor has deep grooves or is severely warped, replace it. If it looks good, you're probably ok - but to do it correctly, get a set of calipers and make sure the thickness is within spec.

solid rotors are pretty much just that, a solid piece of metal that bolts directly the the wheel, floating rotors the rotor rides on a seperate inner hub and has these rings, so if you pick up the rotor you can feel it has some play to it, feels wierd but its right
floater
solid disc
I think the F2 might have used both depending on when yours was made so its probably important to figure out which you have
