Default Ninja 600R

Just wondering what your guys opinions are on a 1995 Ninja 600R. It seems like its a decent bike, just old technology, and as far as sport bikes go, I think its the ugliest one by far...
The reason I ask is because some guy is selling one for a grand, and I'm considering picking it up, but I'm not sure if I should just wait for a not running FZR 600, or ZX6 series, or even an old CBR or GSX.... I know its really up to me, but opinions would be helpful... thanks.

Is it a ZX6e or ZX6r? I'd guess a ZX6r since you called it a 600r. I have one and I like it a lot. Has more than enough power as a starter bike, or even a fun bike for a seasoned rider. I personally dont think they are ugly. I like the way they look for their age. Also, the price is pretty nice if it runs, but I know what you were looking for. You'll just have to weigh the pros and cons of the price, condition, what you're willing to spend on repairs, etc.

haha the problem is its in perfect condition, the guy claims he's done everything to the bike to keep it healthy, it has low mileage and the worst thing about it is the rims are purple... Thats not a very big thing... Its just the style
i LOVE is the FZR look or the GSX look, and after I barely missed the GSX600R for the same price my standards have been raised (its stupid but true). I def see what your saying tho. The guy claims its a Ninja 600R, from my understanding the ZX6r is a different bike is it not??? I'm still trying to figure out all these bikes. Honda has the CBR, Yamaha has the ninja, FZR, r1? suzuki has the GSX/R and Kawasaki makes a ZX600r? I LOVE the way the others look, and the ninja doesn't look bad at all, just not as good i guess?... I know fairings are expensive, but do the FZR fairings or R6 fairings fit on the ninja?

Well, theres the zx6e which looks similar, but has a banana seat. The zx6r is the more sporty version and has the 2 seats. zx6rs started in 1995. Their gens are 95-97, 98-00, 01-02, and 03+. I don't know any of the gens past 03.

If it runs and it is as good as a deal as he claims and it really does check out I would jump all over that.

no, it's a 600r. most people forget about that particulat bike when they start thinking of older kawi sportbikes. the 600r was made FOREVER. decent bike, but just like already stated, old technology. they made them from the mid 80's to the later 90's and didn't change much along the way.

if you do end up getting it, first things frist, disconnect that stupid anti-dive that's attached to the forks.

it's basically a bigger 4 cylinder ex500. it's based on kawi's pre-ZX sportbikes, the GPZ's. bomb proof motors if they're taken car of.

Yeah, I just realized I forgot the 600r. They remind me of the pre 98 Katanas...which I used to have. I found this which was kinda interesting.

if the ad is truthful, you're not gonna find a better deal for $1000, unless you get REAL lucky.
