new bike?
i have opportunity to buy a nearly new harley xr1200 from someone who won it in a contest but doesnt want it. I think i can work his selling price down to 8000? is that a deal for the bike? any personal experience? ive been reading web reviews and they say the buell xb12 out performs this tank of a bike,.. but i guess the 'harley' label is the draw to me. and i dont think i can beat this price with anything else available. The SV would become either a full track bike or full custom after i pick this up.

Re: new bike?
Go to the Harley dealer. They had some insane deals on sportster's about a month ago, plus if you buy a brand new Sportster you can trade it in at full purchase value for another Harley, and let's be honest, if you want a Sportster, chances are higher, you actually want a bigger/more expensive HD down the line. Personally, would have an 883 than the XR1200, think the XR is ugly as fuck.

Re: new bike?
sportster is a straight cruiser though. i rode the small (then new) sportster in like 03? and it's not the ride im looking for.
I actually dig the retro 750 styled xr's looks, and it's made more to carve than the regular sportster. Qualifiers arent the end all be all sticky ickys.. but for harley that about does it. I want to drag the pegs of this bike @ deals gap. doesnt need to be fast, thats my kind of cruising.
