guys some of you might know this and some might not, but i am in the middle of my go-kart build. the kart will be powered by a 99 yamaha r1. i have the swap and the tranny for it but i am missing som parts i need to make it run.... exhaust system, carbs, wiring harness, and i think thats it..... but my question is does anyone know of anyone who has these stock piece sitting around or anyone know of a motorcycle grave yard where i can go and get what i need.....all the help and advice will be welcome

do you have the fuel pump and all the ignition stuff too? Carbs will be pricy(100+) and other than a header the rest of the exhaust will have to be bent up for you.....which means you can pretty much use any kind of can you want. I'd amost say use a stock one so that you don't have to jet it on top of buying carbs. There's supposedly a junkyard around in hampton. I'd try the 2 shops in norfolk by ODU. they deal with used stuff and can often find stuff. brickhouse might also be able to give you some leads. With the amount of wrecked r1's it shouldn't be too hard


good luck with your project. I had some vids on my old computer of a guy that had a gsxr1100 motor in his........couldn't quit smoking the cart tires. Hopefully you'll use something wider or you'll have to buy them in bulk
