Default Help please

I just recently obtained a 1989 honda sport bike but i do not know what size it is or model, i'm am looking for a way to look up the vin to find out what size is as i can look up a repair manual for info on getting the motor running in order for me to have a running motor for a custom bike i'm planning on building. Thanks in advance.
