good starter bike
i just saw it on the dealer site. i actually like the way it looks. And crap its cheap so definitely somethign i would consider, but now that i think about it if i ride it for a long time im sure itll be too slow, just like a car id get used to it. I should probably try and find a 500 or 600 so i probably wont ever get tired of it, but who knows.
and thanks elements..thats not bad looking either. and its something i could probably handle since its such a lower powered bike compared to most on the streets.
once again im a noob at bikes so id have to do research.
can anyone explain a quick breakdown of maintenance. how often do bikes need service. Major rebuilds or what not etc..

Wait, wut? Your 4 door econbox of a car doesn't get good enough gas mileage as is? You know if you bought a honda you would have about 30+mpg instead of the 20mpg that you get with the pile of crap that you drive (plus all the extra weight that you added with the shitty bodykit doesnt really help either).
Anywho, how long is your drive to work and back? I would give serious consideration of buying a used scooter if I lived closer to work. Hell, I used to ride my bike to work in the fall and spring to save on gas and get some exercise.

Don't take this personal because I am being serious. If you truly have the perceived mentality that you've portrayed on this site lately, then I don't think a motorcycle would be a smart choice for you. Unless of course you are trying to clean up the gene pool.
i work up round cnu and live by the courthouse in chesapeake. but the company sends me to jobs all over the area so .. plus the car doesnt workout to well on construction sites
I never "rode the streets" before and I started on a GSXR 600. I didnt have any problems and IMO dirt bikes and sportbikes really dont have much in common besides two wheels and a motor.
