well the DMV says it takes 4 weeks to process the paperwork to get a new VIN number for my bike (bike has a new frame cause the dickwads who polished it fucked the welds near the neck and the bike had to get the frame replaced) the problem is, without a VIN the inspector wont inspect it. with no DMV inspection I cant get a new title. with no title i cant get tags with no tags i cant ride or get insurance. What do you guys suggest? I guess now it looks like i WONT be on the group ride ive been working my ASS off to go on unless somone has a spare bike. this shit really pisses me off. cause they never mentioned it would take 4 weeks to process or else i woulda had this shit done when i bought the bike. they didnt even tell me that I had to wait for a VIN to get the DMV guy to come out and inspect it. AND i dont understand WHY he has to considering a DEALERSHIP put the bike back together and i have reciepts to prove it. Fucking A i hate the US governtment.

it shouldnt take 4 weeks man. The inspector was going to come look at my bike because one of the numbers on the title was wrong so they needed to see the bike. They called me back in about 8 days and were going to come out the following day but I just rode it up to DMV without plates ...lol... then put em on in the parking lot

Jesus, i already knew all that stuff beforehand and read that thread. i was told by the DMV lady it wouldnt take that long. and im not your type? CMON MAN!!! lmao. geon, its gonna take a while for me because i have no VIN, no Title. i have to send the Richmond DMV my bikes picture, bill of sale, notarized receipts etc. and THEN 4 weeks later they send the INSPECTOR my Vin plate then he comes out and looks @ the bike then i get the VIN then I can get a new title and registration and then i can ride..... its so lame.

have you priced frames on ebay? if you can find one w/ a clear title regardless of its condition you can just register that frame, not even put it on the bike as long as its about the same model
