I knew someone would say google. Honestly I've been all over a few sites and see carb kits and such, I just don't know what exactly I'm looking for. I know I need a main jet when upgrading the air filter or exhaust, just not sure what size to even start at or where to find them.

lol you "know" you need a main jet because someone else told you that?

I take it you've never done any carb tuning before? Know any carb theory?

Unfortunately it's not really as simple as new exhaust = x Jet size. Some people might have guidelines but ultimately you're gonna have to do some trial and error tuning to get it right.

Too bad you're in VA beach... I'd be happy to show you what's up.

Edit: you should start by looking up the specs on your bike (specifically the carbs) and see if anyone had done a write up on tuning those carbs.
I could probably find all this out for you, but you know how it goes...
Give a man a fish he'll eat for a day.
Teach a man to fish, he'll probably stop fucking bugging you for food.

Well the actual jet itself looks pretty messed up. Plus, in theory I know more air means you'd need more fuel.

As it sits, the bike will bog down under any hard throttle or anything more than half throttle while riding.

you're right more air requires more fuel but you've gotta figure out just how much fuel.
too much fuel can make a bike bog down too ya know.

is it burning rich or lean @3/4-full throttle?
do you know how to check this by doing a plug reading?

Before you go tearing into those carbs you need to read this in its entirety.
http://www.dansmc.com/carbs2.htm

This explains how to use a vacuum gauge to tune carbs and diagnose problems. <-very useful!

Also, this thread on sohc4.net has a TON of info regarding carb tuning:
