Only way I would own a harley is if it was ALOT older than I am (insert joke from J4K3 here), and it would be just for nostalgic purposes, not something I would ride every day. I do like old iron, but there's a BIG difference between the reliability of a 30+ year old harley and a 30+ year old jap bike. The motor in my last chop is 35 years old, has never been apart, has LORD only knows how many miles, and still runs strong, and starts first kick. You won't get that with a harley.

Got my T-rex SSSA stand today.

Carbs are being rebuilt and sync'd so the bike will be down for another 2 weeks when they get back from Cali (friend is doing it on his VFR.

520 Chain and sprockets (-1front +2 rear) have yet to arrive

Racetech springs compared to progressive oem. New seals and bushings, 10w fork oil.

your friend is syncing YOUR carbs on HIS VFR? that ain't gonna work man.

Can I get some more detail on this?

I checked around for prices from local shops, everyone wanted 500+ to clean and sync the carbs. Since I had a friend that offered to clean them for me. I figured the 150 for shipping would be worth the wild. He has the same exact bike as mine. He offered to bench sync them, but it came up that they will still need to be sync'd to the bike. So his carbs are off his bike and was going to put them on his bike and sync them. Then ship them back.

Whats wrong with this? I kept thinking altitude changes would play a factor? Either way, cleaned and rebuilt for just the price of shipping saved me a ton. So I could order the 520 conversion and thinking about the factory pro shift kit. If they dont run good on my bike, I will just pay a local shop to sync them or get the tools and research and do it myself.

But I am very curious as to why it wont work? Same year, make , model bike.

Im am stupid when it comes to carbs. So bare with me.

b/c there are tolerance differences in every motor. the sync on his motor will not be the same for yours. Especially true on a bike with some miles on it. your carbs need to be sync'ed to your motor.

you need to check around, I just cleaned, rejetted, and sync'ed a set of carbs on zrx 1100 today for just over $250, and that was at $86 an hour.

Thanks for the hindsight. Learning something new everyday.

I called 4 shops local and close to me. All where around 50-100 dollars of each other. But I like your prices, maybe a trip to the beach for some sync work in the near future.

On another side note:
Forks are installed and done. Stiff as hell.
