well, here is a good way to look at it. I know everyone says start with a smaller cc bike, but its really just disipline of the wrist......every bike will hit 140mph, just some do it quicker than others. why spend the money on a small cc bike when in 6 months when you get use to it and learn it youll want to sell and buy a bigger one. My first bike was a ZX6r and after 3 months I bought a 7R and then 6 months after that I bought a liter bike. Im just saying its all up to the wrist!!! If you know your limits and can be mature about it, go ahead and get the liter bike, youll be happier in the long run! Just my .02

i think thats alot of weight for the average size person to learn on, also rc51's, no offense, are niche-market bikes, you either love them or hate them and to love them you have to love it for what it is, i'd say there are two types of people starting, the ones that have a level head and want to start on a smaller bike and work up and will probably one day own a rc51 if they so desire, or the ones that think they have to start on something big, and then hate the rc51 because its hot in traffic and gets beat by gsxr 1000's in the straights... to really enjoy a rc51 you need to be able to ride it half way to its limit for one, and need to know exactly what kind of bike your getting and what comes with a v-twin race bike, to me it isn't a one size fits all type bike like a gsxr 750 might be

 

Yea .. many people tell me that , its in the wrist, while i have faith in myself im still pretty small 5'7" 130lbs so ya know thats not much room for error and i really dont need a large bike. Really into the naked bike styling. Anyone heard anything about a Monster 620? seem nice, and decently priced.

Ducati's are cool, but I personally will not buy one for a few reasons.

 

While you are looking..........check out the Monster S2R........800cc great bike(wet clutch with slipper) and maintenance is nowhere as bad as the older 4valvers. Great Italian style and sound. I have a 600RR and Duc........the Duc is fun to ride. The Honda is more race orientated.

 

OOOOH wet clutch? I didnt know that, dry clutch is one of my main reasons to not own a duck.

 

Some people love the Duc' for the dry clutch.........not me. We need to get the twins together......I want to compare the sound of your RC exhaust with the Ducati exhaust.
