boot decisions
so I had a long time on deployment to think about ankle safety. nearly every article I found in Cycle World, Motorcyclist, etc talked about ankle safety.
I picked up my bike and gear yesterday and found that my Vegas were completely useless too me. The sole was too soft. They didn't breathe right and my feet overheat. They offer no protection to the ankle, Achilles, or toe.
That means upgrade time.
I have been reading a lot about SIDI boots. Can I get your inputs?
I'm deciding between
Sidi Fusion
or
Sidi B2
thanks.

Re: boot decisions
I like sidi boots but more of there higher line stuff like the Vortice but then your spending over $400 I would look into the Alpinestar SMX plus... there about $279 and they are about as good as it gets

Sidi boots are great, the B2 looks like it offers better ankle protection.
Honestly, you need to find a local place that carries a variety of quality boots and try them on.
I wear Alpinestars boots because they fit me well and match the rest of my A* gear.

Re: boot decisions
Agreed. I was actually able to get mine through a local dealer at nearly the same cost as I could online. It was only $10-15 difference, IIRC.

Re: boot decisions
The B2's definitely appear to offer way more ankle protection, but no personal experience with them. I have the SMX-5's. IMO, they are a nice street boot, and were a definite upgrade from the work boots I was riding with prior. They also are comfortable enough to walk around in and wear for a few hours and not look like an astronaut, but I'd definitely like to upgrade to a second set of boots for more "spirited" riding.
