Thanks for all of the replies, guys.

I also didnt know what to expect from the Richmond winter as Im from Northern NJ (a serious winter) but went to school in Lexington, VA (pretty mild winter)...good to know you guys have no trouble leaving the bike out all year round.

Me too. It took me a few seconds to catch on to the QFE. That must be something knew that he wants to make mainstream.

no it's actually pretty common in the circles I run in usually I didn't start it

as for the winter I rode all winter long this year I didn't even drive my car once until about a month ago so if you're not scared of the cold you shouldn't have any problem because it really doesn't snow that much around here

Va has pretty much the perfect climate because it doesn't get bitter cold or extremely hot southern Ca is the only other place where I would say the climate is nicer

This man speaks truth. When I met him he looked like he took a bath with his gear on.

I drive my car almost every day as well, but I arm my alarm and put on my locks every time I leave it at night. If you have full insurance and enough money to pay the raised premium for filing claims, I guess you are good, but I prefer to have my bike 'not stolen' and protected from the elements whenever I am parking it for the night or longer.
