Im a pretty big guy, 6', not alot weight wise, but i can lift more then it looks, Im not as much worried about dropping a bike as I would be with the weight shifting dynamics in cornering. I think 750 is a bit big for a first, and I dont want to die. would a 600cc suffice? if so, what would anyone reccomend?

a 600 is just fine.... A 500 would even work just fine for you.

my first bike was an 1100 ..thats what i learned on...was not too bad...it only goes as fast as you want it too

Hahaha yes it will feel different, top speed, lucky if you get over 120 but it is a super forgiving bike and you can pretty much sell it for what you paid for it and on the highway you average over 50mpg which is not bad with fuel prices the way they are.

Get a ninja 250 or 500, or a gs500. If you don't like these then you aren't really looking for a bike to learn on and get whatever you planned on getting anyways.

A supersport is not a good bike to learn on even if it is a 600 and they get worse as they get bigger. All the supersports are fast even a 600 runs a 10.5 quarter mile.
