Default bike runs fine at high speeds but is "sluggish" at low

I'm looking to get a 2003 F4i and the disciption I've gotten is "runs sluggish at low speeds but fine when going fast" from what I know about cars I would think its something having to do with a Mass Airflow sensor or throttle cable... but I don't know bikes so I really have no idea what it could be on this. I know this isn't a honda forum, but there are a lot of guys on this forum that know a lot about bikes so I figured I'd try you guys first. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

it's an inline 4 cylinder, they all suck at low rpm power, the smaller the displacement, the more they suck at low rpm. it's an rpm motor, from idle to 6k+ they don't make crap for power.

fwiw, there is not MAF on an f4i.

^^LOL!!!!

On another note, your description is a little vague. It's a fuel injected bike, so "sluggish", would be it runs like a carbed bike at low rpm's? Idk, fuel injector cleaner should help.

well like I said I dunno n e thing about bikes but thanks for the info. I'm gonna pick the bike up and just worry about it once I get it. as far as the sluggish thing goes, I think he means delay when pull the throttle to actual rev of engine, but I dunno. like I said I'll see when I pick it up.

DO NOT put fuel injector cleaner in your bike.
