if you guys are up for a longer trip the colonial parkway to centerville rd to route 5 to Richmond route is a nice laid back ride with very few stoplights the whole way until you're in Richmond. From the time you hit the parkway to the south side of richmond there might be 5. Also between 45-55mph the whole way with some gentle sweepers that you don't have to be a pro to do. You have to watch your speed along the parkway but once you get on 5 you can do a little over like everyone else but I woudln't recommend doing more than 15 or 20 over. From Hampton its probably a 3-4 hour round trip. Where 5 spits you out is in the old part of south richmond and there are a bunch of places to eat and if you want to ride around richmond there's an awesome dealership that deals in antique and new euro models. Place is called Velocity Vintage.
look up north and there's a ton of roads you can use to make a loop like route 60 and the like. No cops, bridges, tunnels, tourists and hardly any lights like down at the beach. The beach thing is cool if you're going to hang out or something but driving down there through traffic and hanging out in a lot until everyone shows and then going stoplight to stoplight until you can hit some back roads blows because for every hour of riding there's two hours or so getting there and waiting.
suffolk and ches is also a good ride and you can find some good roads out that way. The jamestown ferry route is fun for a short ride too

If you guys want to hit some nice roads.......I suggest going out my way (Smithfield). I've ridden Pungo a few times.......sometimes traffic is a bit much. You can go route 10...Surry to the ferry or keep heading North. I went a few weeks ago with another rider friend and we went to some absolutely awesome sweepers way out towards Chester. Either way there are relatively few cops and little traffic. I reco' meeting around Oyster Point....10ish to allow Va Beach boys to meet up.....or the Race Track gas station close to the James River Bridge (Portsmouth side). Just a thought.
well no it can be on saturday if everyones down 4 that i also know a big group of riders that meet on airline blvd in p-town n go out threw some country with a 12 straight stretch if anyone wants 2 get up with them
