Anyone using/have used Engine Ice?
My RC51 runs hot as shit, as do all RC's and most V-twins, I ordered a set of cooling fins yesterday and I am probably going to try this stuff, I was just wondering if anyone has used it and what the results were.

I dunno..................I would have invested in a fan switch and/or a larger fan. That's what most people with the RC-51's have done.

In all my google searching the only options I have come up with are:
HRC Radiators $1800 so not an option.
changing fan switch to a lower setting- dont know where to start.
Moriwaki Carbon fiber radiator fins- already in the mail.
Engine ice- read that it works well.
70/30 water/coolant.. havent tried.

not sure if you mean riding hot when moving or around city traffic but either way i second the fan switch... i used to use engine ice but for some reason it isn't accepted as a racing or track day coolant anymore... i use like 25% coolant, 75% water and water wetter in my street bike and can definetly see a difference in temp, with a fan switch even on 100 degree days stopped in downtown traffic i never see above 190
just saw you replied, some bikes, i know ducatis you can actually buy a different radiator switch that will make the fan come on sooner. but what i did, and what i imagine CBR means is wire in a on/off switch from radio shack, so you can manually turn on your fan at will... don't know how a RC switch is run, but on a gsxr you've got a temp sensor going right into the side of the radiator with two wires out of it, take a two pole toggle switch and just tap into both the wires, this way the fan still works like normal independent of your manual switch, but if you want you can flip it and turn it on... some of them are controlled from a relay under the seat or tail, in which case just do the same thing

water wetter and engine ice are both very good products, and you should see a difference immedialy. IMO its worth the 21 bucks. i asked this question last year and put it in my bike and i was pretty impressed by the results.

Re: Anyone using/have used Engine Ice?
I have used water wetter in 3 different vehicles to include this bike and I have yet to notice and temperature drop at all.
I guess I will give the engine ice a try.
