06 R6 engine in 05 R6
I had a little mishap this morning on the way to work, and now have a hole in the side of my engine. I was just wondering if anyone knew if a 06+ R6 engine would be a direct swap for a 05 R6.

You can use the 06-08 R6-S motor which should be a direct drop in replacement.
And if i remember correctly the 06 R6 was a new bike/motor.

jk
Chain broke, got bunched up on the front sprocket. Ripped the sprocket cover off along with part of the engine. Now I have a 2 inch hole right above the front sprocket.

Had the same thing happen riding my YZ250. However I was able to fix just by buying what I would call the housing for the engine and rebuilding it. Is anything internally jacked up? You could save a ton of money.
