I was thinking about buying some lowering springs for my car and need to find a local shop in Richmond to install them. The car is a 2009 Honda Fit GE8.

Any recommendations? What should I expect to pay for this?

This. It's a pretty basic procedure that you can DIY if you're up to it. If not, any shop can do it. Just make sure to get an alignment afterward. What do you plan to do with this? Do you just want the lowered look or do you want something that will increase handling performance?

save the money and DIY.. You can rent a spring compressor... or buy it.. they are not that expensive.

I got quoted $180-350 at different shops. Ended up having a friend of a friend do it for me for $50. I was very grateful

If not check out Virginia Solar Tinting.. I am pretty sure they can do it.

DIY is easy, but you need to let the springs settle before you get it aligned

springs don't settle if you install everything correctly.

I always get a kick out of these types of replies on the forums, and it's what causes there to be so many hack job used cars. People that shouldn't be working on stuff end up rushing into a job trying to DIY because some retard told them it was easy and they were stupid to pay a pro to do it.

If someone is asking where they should take their car to to get work done, they probably shouldn't be doing the work themselves, that's just how it is. There's nothing wrong with learning but that is not the way to do it.

To the OP, there is a local shop list stickied at the top. read it.

Most regular maintenance mechs won't touch something like lowering springs, but with work slow most places they might be willing to do it.

Are you kidding? Yes, springs will always settle even if you have someone like PAS install them
