Trade the Jeep for the silver '85 GT 'vert on Beach
I've had my eye on that thing since I moved down in this area and always said I'd buy it if it ever went up for sale. Well, it's up for sale and I have the opportunity to trade the Jeep for it. The outside of the car is in excellent condition, but it could use a new dash pad. So should I do it?

NONSENSE!!! Dont listen to these people, they dont know what they are talking about! Buy the car, it will be your daily driver and who cares if you mod this one a bit...just get another car down the road...thats what i always do.
Important question...is that 85 EFI or Carbed?

Get a cheap tow vehicle. The Jeep has major reliability issues, right? Getting two cars will make you favor one over the other. Need something different that will serve as more than just a daily driver. Then again, none of us will be spending your money, so it's entirely up to you. We can only offer personal opinions here.

dude, disregard everything posted before me...
you've got the chance to get an 85 aod car. dashpad covers are like 50bux (the one i got on my car....). you can eventually turn the car around for major profit with very little money invested. new cam, clean it up a bit, maybe cover the seats or something and you've got a badass car!
go for the trade.

The last few months is the first time I've ever not owned 2 or more Mustangs and I kinda miss not having one for a daily driver and really miss having a convertible, although with winter coming up that's not really a big deal. After straying from Ford for a while and seeing the quality you get elsewhere, I'm pretty sure I'd like to go back to Ford. Would like to find a mid 90's body style F-150, but payments and sky high insurance aren't high on my list of priorities at the moment.
Pro's for the convertible:
Collectibility - it's an 85, bone stock, and will be a classic in 2 years...I think the value is going to go up.
it's a convertible - need I say more?
would make a good cruise-in/show car
pros for keeping the jeep:
utility - I can haul just about anything I need to and it's even got a tow rating high enough to tow my racecar + trailer
power - more power than the 85 mustang
it's newer
