hey im thinking bout moving up to richmond from the 757 due to how cheap it is to live up there. ive heard richmond isnt that safe a city so i figured id check with you guys/gals on what richmond is like for us car peoples.

I really don't mind Richmond. I like it here. I like the city especially, there are some fun places and things to see. I have the option of moving next year but I decided to stay. It's not bad at all. I guess it depends where you will be living, but for the most part its good!

I agree. I moved to Richmond about a year ago and love it (I live downtown). The city is very fun and offers a nice variety with several different neighborhoods (The Fan, Carytown, Shockoe, etc.). The city thrives on independent establishments which are unique as opposed to the standard chain restaurants and big box stores found across the U.S. (If this is what you are into there is the West End/Short Pump area). Good luck and try to keep an open mind as opposed to listening to negative comments from others.

This place is a cesspool. I have lived here for 3 years and cannot wait to graduate and move! I have lived in the West End (similar to Va Beach), Fan (similar to Ghent), and Downtown. I like to go out a lot, and after a while there really just isn't that much stuff to do. I think for a city, it is kind of ghetto and small.

If you do move here, I recommend the Fan. The people in this neighborhood have a great sense of community. Cool architecture and lots of hot people jogging around.
