Things to do in Richmond
I just started dating this girl in Richmond, and I guess I am going to start making regular trips up there from down in the 757. I am trying to find fun things to do in Richmond to be able to explore the area.
We like outdoor activities, and of course prefer free to good value for money activities. I have been to Bells Isle River so far, and its a blast over there. We are adventure junkies.
I see that they have rafting down the river, but it cost $48 per person. Can I bring my own raft and raft down the river? I have one from walmart that cost like about $30. Do I NEED helmet and stuff if I am using my own? I know it is better, but is it law that I need one when I am going down the river?
What other fun stuff is there to do in Richmond?

There are a lot of hiking and outdoor adventure groups going out nearly every weekend. You've already mentioned Belle Isle and Maymont was listed. Try Pony Pasture as well. Canal Walk at sunset is quite good, pair it up with Bottoms Up Pizza downtown. Civil War museum, Museum of the Confederacy, Edgar Allen Poe house tour, weekend Hollywood Cemetery tour, ghost tour are all good. Short Pump and Stony Point malls are good to window shop outdoors. Brewsters and Gelati Celeste are awesome ice cream places. Free concerts for Friday Cheers (on Fridays, duh) and cheap concerts in Innsbrook (www.innsbrookafterhours.com mostly on Wednesdays). Blues Traveler is playing Innsbrook this Wednesday for $12.50. The National and Toads Place have some good shows, too.
