So, I walk out to the truck last night and find this....
Shitty pictures from me, I know.... but, no need to make them look nice....

This is my beater, a '99 Chevy S-10 Xtreme I originally bought new over eight years ago. It's been broken into twice now. First time in Tampa somebody broke out the driver's side window to steal a $20 radar detector from Wal-Mart. They left all of the stereo equipment. This time I wasn't so "lucky". They got it all... head unit, subwoofer, amp, and the change in the console. The CD player they ripped out of my dash might as well have been a brick, cause that's all it's good for now. It's one of those fancy-ass Kenwood units with the face plate that rotates 180 degrees to hide itself. If power is lost to the player you have to know where the "secret" switch is to open it. Then you have to push just the right button for just the right amount of time and then figure out how to type in a four-digit code that only I know. In other words, nobody's going to know how to make it work again except for me. Needless to say, I'm pissed. I live in the West End where shit's supposed to be nice and safe. Same thing in Tampa. Guess it doesn't matter.
Sucks dude, just went through that a month ago. I'll be picking glass out of the carpet and out of the crevices for the rest of my life. I lucked out in the thief gently removed the unit from the dash, taking the time to unplug the harness instead of ripping or cutting.
Good luck with the job and the truck.
