That reminds me of a question I thought about a few weeks ago while driving around. Has anybody put a fart cannon on a v8? Does it still sound bad?

No. Typical v8 exhaust has the muffler seperate from the tips. Though if some moron did put a fart can on a v8 it wouldn't be all bumble beeish like 4 bangers are.

 

I've seen nuetered F-bodies (V6 Camaros) with them...sounds awful. I have no idea what >5.0L would sound like.

 

Not sure which specific model that is, but most Apexis are certainly not "fart cans". They're known to be some of the quietest performance exhausts and give out a fairly low tone at WOT.

 

It would probly sound bad but not as bad as Honda's. v6 f-bods and stangs sound like shit with any type of exhaust imo.

 

Trust me, I'm not backing up V6 domestics...but there is one exhaust that is made for the F-bodies that actually makes the V6 sound decent (until they hit upper RPMs).

as for the 'bumble bee' statment, it's not all 4 cly, just those that are less then a 2.0

I installed a PoS OBX muffler on my old car (99 eclipse) my friend had the same on his Civic, the civic sounded like crap. Way too loud, and raspie, the eclipse sounded jus fine, even with a high-flow cat installed.
