I'm glad you have had good luck, some people win the Lottery too. What do you mean by "chic shop"?

Getting them to bore/hone/etc. shouldn't be a problem, it's the cylinder notching they turn down. I hit 4 machine shops before giving up. After thoroughly researching on

Just my opinion but if you're really trying to make big power out of a single cam, I would find a block that you don't need to bore and can just lightly hone. That is unless your block is sleeved. When you start boring out stock sleeves, the sleeves get weak. I've made 450hp out of single cam on stock sleeves/stock bore so you should be ok unless you're trying to make more than that.

Give Jose a call. I know for a fact he can notch the block for you.

Yeah, thats real cost effective. When all is said and done to do the full swap, the OP could have a 11 or 10 second car using the D-series motor....or a 160hp motor that will have him run 15's....not worth it. And the parts for a B-series are outrageously priced.

Stick with the D.

+1.... and the parts normally come in cheaper, but be weary of the cyclinder "walking". Alot of people scorn block guards or just don't like them but it's a relativly in-expensive way to help the block handle the power you may want to throw at it. I ran the blox brand in my D with no cooling issues/problems for 3 years and as far as I know it still is running well ( i sold the car ).

If you insist on not touching it yourself, research the hell out of the shop you plan on taking it to.

x2 except for the 11-10 second part. It would still lay waste to a stock b swap.
