i want to get a aluminum cover made either with fins like the tomei version or just etch out CA18DET across it. that would be dope. no one makes one for my motor. if anyone knows of a shop that can complete this task. lmk

 

Just run no coil pack cover, better for the coils to breathe anyway.

 

but with a metal one you can get better grounding. just get one like the P2M one that doesn't obstruct airflow.

 

sr20det covers will not fit ca18det. no cover looks bleh imo. thats why i want something a little flashy, but functional to let the coils breath.

 

ca18det coils hate being covered. do you have an oem cover to make a templet from? if not i have a spare one you can use, any metal shop can make one if you give them the deminsions ou want.

 

yeah i have mine on. can any shops laser cut the CA18DET into the aluminum template. that should function for the cooling of the coils.

 

most machine shops will be able to do something like that for you. expect to pay some cash for setting up the tooling. One-off items can be quite steep in price, due to setup fees.

 

Make one out of cardboard and take it to any metal fab shop. Shouldn't be a problem at all.

 

yeah, i might just need to keep it simple and just get some cooling fins cut into it.

btw, one of my friends was talking about one of those water metal cutting machines that his work had or something now i have to remember who it was, if you want something actually cut into it.
