Arrow Need to borrow a box hitch with about 8" drop

Looking to borrow a 2" box hitch with about an 8" drop with 2-5/16" if you got one. Looking to buy one locally as well if you know of a place that has it and can handle 1000# tongue weight and at least 8000# trailer weight. Rich, do you have one for your new F450?

Don't waste your time with call "Pep Boys" or "Autozone" comments. Most are for 500# tongue weight and 5000# max trailer weight. There are some fat chicks on this board that exceed that.

hang on, you need a trailer ball and hitch to use?

or do you need the whole towing hitch?

the one on the back of the truck has a 2-5/16" ball and has about an 8" drop on it (heavy enough for the car+box+lots of crap in the box)....

more than welcome to borrow

That's exactly what I need! Have a 2" receiver, same as what is on your F350. Can I pick it up from your work tomorrow? Holla with a PM of the exact addy as I know generally where it is and am just around the corner.

Called Zip. Draw Tite part # 4283 for 8" drop with 1-1/4" shank for 2-5/16" ball. Not in stock but they apparently can get it before the weekend.

Found one. Having it shipped from Utah as there are no dealers on the east coast (yet). 1500# tongue weight and 10,000# trailer weight capacity with 8" drop. Weighs about 20# and is 30% stronger than steel. Has locks and self-storage (flip it around to protect my shins from shattering), which I felt was a necessity. This beast should last a very long time!

... and yes, it was expensive.

Should be good for people who borrow my trailer and adjust to their own truck's ride height.

A bit on the bling side, but that strong aluminum only comes in one color. Ordered a WeatherGuard truck box as well, but in black 'cause I don't wanna be blingin' all over the damn place.
