Meet locations

Re: Meet locations
Chesterfield doesn't let shit go down at Cloverleaf anymore.
Rockwood is nice, but having 200 cars in 1 lot would be hard, it's more of a lot of smaller lots.
I'll scout around.

Re: Meet locations
cloverleave mall would be a no go, land owners dont like cars there anymore.
rockwood does have that HUGE lot right in teh middle, but I am sure we are gonna have to call ahead of time and see about haveing that blocked off or something.
and is this a drama free meet or do I need bodyguards? LOL

Re: Meet locations
i think someone should make it a rule that if anyone starts anything at the meet they be banned for life, and let everyone on here know it
i've been racking my brain for meet locations but can't think of anything worth adding... did someone already say the park n ride that hondatech uses or used to use off gaskins is a no go for sure or just figured it wouldn't work out? that really would be the perfect spot i'd think, would be worth checking into unless its already been crossed off the list officially

Re: Meet locations
Okay, I know this might be out in left field, literally, but has some good points.
Field Day of the Past Showgrounds are on State Route 623 half way between Broad Street (Rt. 250) and I-64 (Exit #173 off I-64, 14 miles west of downtown Richmond). Very close to Route 288 for those living on the southside and easy access to people from the Charlottesville area. People coming from Tidewater could hop around Richmond's downtown by taking I-295 around.
The location is also across the street from Performance Autosports, which has a dyno and Kevin works there, too. Bogey's sportspark is just a block away and has driving ranges, mini-golf, and batting cages. Short Pump Town Center (yuppie mall) is about 5 minutes away.
Good thing about the location is that it is a field, with grass, and no asphalt. Therefore -- no ricer burnouts or speedbumps! Henrico County officers can be hired for a minimum of 3 hours at $28/hr each to help maintain order. Yeah, it'll cost a bit but may be very worthwhile for an open-invite event.
The Field Day Organization which owns the grounds has a phone line at (804) 741-8468 and apparently they meet the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 7pm in the Short Pump Garage building on the show grounds.
