Default Kenwood 8120 install

Anyone had this installed in Richmond recently?

I got few prices from shops in town and cheapest was $800 for head unit, ipod cable, GXM 30, bluetooth, backup camera, steering wheel controls, and DD conversion. That is just for labor using OEM Bose system in my 05 infiniti G35 coupe as I have all the parts needed.

Is that reasonable? Sounds crazy to me!

Anyone have any recommendations for good shops in town?

Thanks

Not trying to be an ass or anything, but you can't install it yourself? The steering wheel controls and other conversions have adapters to make things easy. The back-up camera is a couple of screws and a video cable. The rest is simple wiring.

As for the $800...seems a little steep to me. Try Extreme Audio in Mechanicsville, AudioOne, Audio Express, and RPM. Not sure who you called already, but those are some reputable shops off top of head.

don't you have to bypass the bose amp? The $800 seems a little high, but I don't think it's too far off for retail prices, you're probably getting upcharged since you didn't buy it from them. That radio is damn nice, you'll really like it, the ipod interface is excellent.

G35 is a pain to do an install in. But ya $800 does seem a bit much since you have "All your own parts".
