Nothing personal man, but I don't listen to people who have no clue about the topic. Chris when you are a millionaire, I may listen to your plan.

Sarun I am doing ok. I have a full time job working 13+ hours a week so It's tough to devote full attention, but in the next week or so I plan on doing some adds and focusing more on Daniels and my plan. Daniel do not say a word...

Yeah Daniel and I have something under our sleeves.

However, Becky if you want a cashier job, my shop is hiring. The Manager and i got rid of 2 people last week and another found a higher paying job. Granted it is Jiffy Lube(people always assume everyone who works there are clueless, but many do know their shit), but you do get bonuses if we do good, overtime, you are around cars, you get free use of the shop, lift, supplies for your own car. Sometimes, when you need a job, you can't be picky.

AmeriPlan is a front-loaded multi-level marketing scheme that is actually legal. Emphasis is on selling marketing materials to associates for bonuses rather than discounting prescriptions/medical/dental care through volume contracts, which is it's designated purpose.

FROM: Barry Friedman, CFP
AmeriPlan USA

SUBJECT: Response to postings on (CONFIDENTIAL)

I am writing on behalf of AmeriPlan USA, it's more than 1.3 million satisfied members who are saving of millions of dollars on their supplemental health care needs, the more than 80,000 health care professional who are providing high quality affordable services to our members and the 50,000 plus Independent Business Owners/Brokers who represent this fine company and are finding a better life for themselves and their families through the millions of dollars each year that are earned through their AmeriPlan efforts.

It is unfortunate that the right of free speech, which you so professionally represent, allows people the right to lie, misrepresent and distort the truth in such ways that injure the public that the law is meant to protect. With that in mind I will take this opportunity to specifically address the issues set forth in the postings on your site.

First of all, AmeriPlan does not realize most of its money by signing up "reps". More than 80% of our revenues and over 90% of our profit comes from members who do not sell the plan, but have joined to realize significant savings by purchasing the supplemental health care benefit program only. As a matter of fact, for the month of June, 2002, 84% of our applications were this type of members.

Next, AmeriPlan does not force anyone to purchase a "$500.00 kit", as a matter of fact; we do not have a $500.00 kit. The only requirement to become a Broker is an initial $95.00 basic Broker fee (which includes a Broker Kit, one-time registration fee and the first months $35.00 Broker Benefits Fee), and an ongoing $35.00 per month Broker Benefits fee. There are two optional upgrade packages that are available and offer discounts on sales aids and on attendance at AmeriPlan University, our training resource. We do not require anyone to purchase any additional sales aids, and the sales aids that we sell to our Brokers are at a price that cannot be beat anywhere by anyone. We are very conscientious about providing true value to our members and our Brokers.

The AmeriPlan healthcare provider network has contractually committed to provide high quality services at significantly reduced fees. We establish and monitor the performance under these agreements. No doubt, with more than 80,000 providers, it is possible that a few might not comply, but we are confident that 99.9% of our providers deliver the products and services as represented. The specific allegation that an AmeriPlan dental provider quoted $75.00 for a cleaning is highly unlikely, since our fee schedule for a basic tooth cleaning runs substantially less than that amount, and there is no $75.00 fee for even a related service. The claim that there is no savings on dental care is ludicrous. I can provide thousands of testimonials, I can refer you to very satisfied members or I can have you contact our providers to see what their normal fee is and what their AmeriPlan fee is for the specified service.

One of the claims on your site is that AmeriPlan charges $295.00 and does not deliver. This is blatantly untrue. The optional App Pak Program that is being referred to offers our Brokers a one-time opportunity to purchase a Company subsidized sales aids package at a significant discount, if they wish. The Pak contains $390.00 worth of sales aids for $190.00, for a $200.00 savings on items that are very moderately priced to begin with.

When Brokers enroll in AmeriPlan they subscribe to and sign an agreement that they will pay a $35.00 per month Broker Benefits fee. For this $35.00 fee they receive:
  • A household membership for the AmeriPlan Dental, Vision, Prescription and Chiropractic Plan that has a retail fee of $19.95 per month.
  • All of their business reports, checks, accounting and business administration,
  • Monthly newsletter
  • No-cost access and use of any of our totally Company paid 47 regional offices around the country.
  • Membership in the AmeriPlan Broker Benefits Program, which provides more than 20 additional money-saving opportunities, such as:
  • Emergency Roadside Assistance
  • CompUSA discounts
  • Office Depot discounts,
  • Moving discounts,
  • Travel discounts,
  • Legal and Financial Service discounts,
  • Shopping discounts,
  • Additional healthcare services,
  • Auto discounts
  • Grocery discounts
  • Sprint PCS discounts,
  • Long Distance discounts and many more...this is one of the best values offered by any company in any business...

By the way, in response, AmeriPlan does not and never has charged $20.00 for a video...and never will...our videos usually run between $2.50 and $5.00 depending on quantity purchased.
I cannot imagine a Broker claiming that a single $295.00 investment would provide a full years benefits, nor can I imagine someone buying that without checking further. The application that must be submitted clearly states that there is an ongoing $35.00 monthly Broker Benefits fee and it requests information on how that is going to be paid.

We do not have a requirement to sign up six customers in the first month; as a matter of fact we do not have any production quota to maintain your Broker status with AmeriPlan. We regret that anyone feels ripped-off with AmeriPlan, but we take every opportunity that we can to be clear, to avoid any language that can be misleading and to provide all of the communications tools to avoid confusion.

Another point that had been made was that regarding the Fast Pak to Fast Track. Our Fast Pak to Fast Track is a sales tool to help our Brokers to earn some initial extra bonus money. They are, however, not required to enroll any App Pak Brokers in order to do so. Every promotion, contest, bonus plan or activity that we promote always encourages the enrolling of members along with new Brokers. To be promoted within our organization and to advance in the compensation plan requires enrolling members, not just Brokers. Once again, we do not require the purchase of any sales materials, we do not require the enrolling of any Brokers and we do not mandate how one build their own business.

I believe that when you build a business, such as AmeriPlan, where so many people are involved, you will find a few who will not be satisfied. There are those who always think that they can do it better, whether that means following the rules or not does not seem to matter. We consistently go out of our way to work with our Brokers and to be understanding and reasonable. There are some situations that just don't seem to be easily resolved when dealing with unreasonable, angry or irresponsible people. Our success and the extremely large number of satisfied clients that we have leads us to believe that we are doing the right things more often than not. We regret any inconvenience that we might have caused anyone and are always willing to bend over backwards to resolve differences with reasonable people, and we do.

Thank you for the opportunity of addressing these issues with you and your valued readers. I realize that this is a long response and recognize that you will need to edit and condense the information. Please let me know when you post our response.

Barry

P.S. AmeriPlan is, and has been for some time, a member in good standing with: The Better Business Bureau, The United States Chamber of Commerce, The Dallas Chamber of Commerce, The National Association of Dental Plans, The Consumer Health Alliance, and The National Association of Provider Access Organizations. We are a good community citizen and the AmeriPlan Charitable Foundation has been a contributor to worthy local and National causes.

Thank you for researching Richard. That would take me days to type.

I think someone was just owned

Funny how the President likes the plan and is trying to formulate congress in having a health care plan like us.
