So I will eventually go with aftermarket wheels on the lotus.
The wheels Im lookin to get will be in the $2000 range. Then I will need tires (Advan a048 $1000) Im not puttin cheap tires on this car. And coilovers so it wont look retarded $2400 for the cheapest ones. Thats over $5000 freakin dollars. So that wont be happenin for a damn while.

But I will powder coat my wheels for the time being.

I was dead set on matte black. Its actually a factory lotus option and looks very racey raw IMO. I hate black wheels for the most part but they look good on the lotus.

This morning a friend of mine mentioned getting the stockers powder coated in gold. And I was like hmmmm GOLD. What you guys think? tacky in gold and just go black?

my car

In black

You've already done the gold thing. Go for the race look with black as that car isn't made to stand still. Might be worthwhile to try to find a gently used (or even new) set that is already black as your brand new, uncurbed, set of wheels has a high resale value.

yeah makes sense....about the wheels value...they are worth about 400 since these are not the forged wheels so I am not concerned with it

For $400 keep them and slap some stickies on it for track only use. Check out www.carguys.com for instructor-led events at Summit Point and VIR. Lots of track time, learn a helluva lot, and worth every penny!
