almost every time i go on that road, no matter what time (besides after dark of corse) there are at lease 2 or more bikers on it! drive me NUTS! if you cant go the speed limit, you dont belong. anyone passing, especially idiots, is in danger even at or below the speed limit!

Meh. Ive biked on that road a time or two.

Cars dont own it, and that road isnt there for you to tear up. There are plenty of straights to safely pass a road bike.


On a side note, I wrecked the shit out of my motorcycle on that road due to sand in the middle of the turn and sun in my eyes.

 

i just strongly feel that it isnt an appropriate road for bikes AND cars. i can only think of 2 spots that are truely safe to pass a bike, but the fact that they cant go near the speed limit is the largest factor! lets say... i come around a BLIND curve AT or below 35mph, oh look a biker going 5mph in my lane, and a suv in the opposing lane...hmmmm. whos gonna win that fight? how about the suv passing the bike on the blind curve? my brother and i have both seen bikes being passed on absolutely blind curves, with the idiot going entirely in the opposite lane!!!

 

So stay behind them until it's safe to pass. It's like anything else going slower than you, but way smaller and easier to pass.

 

that is what you have to do, but there are always retards that try to pass, and wind up in your lane, head on!

all my friends are into road biking, but in general i agree with this guy. Bikers harp on about "you don't own the road" and "we have as much a right to be on it as you" but he's right, you can't even go the speed limit and that causes problems
