I am new, and need some help.
Hey wats up everyone. I am new here, but have been a lurker since dragva first started. I have some questions for everyone that lives in the richmond area if they could help me out please. I am planning to move to richmond to go to VCU, and also transfer jobs down there. I have been looking at places and found a home down in chesterfield around 288, and newbyes bridge road, if any of you could help me out, and let me know how that area is, or wat other parts of richmond I should look at. I really dont want to be right in the city or around campus. I know the FAN areas is the college place but is not what I am looking for. Any suggestions I would greatly appreciate.

It's pretty decent area. I probably live about 5 minutes away from that area. You should be able to get to school pretty quickly, and if you follow up Courthouse Rd, which is what crosses through Newby's and 288 you can get to Hull St, which is pretty central to Southside. That and Midlothian Turnpike. That's just another 10 minutes up Courthouse past Hull St.

i would seriously just move downtown. I live on campus and it is great! I walk a couple block to class and don't have to deal with all the nasty traffic around there in the mornings. I would rather not live there, but it is just so convenient.

I'm in Brandermill but also very close to that area. I love it, you're basically close to alot of good places to eat and there's even a local speed shop close on Hull street I heard....

dont waste your time with southside if your going to VCU. Just move to west end or better yet near downtown. If you dont like the fan area type living move to west end like around parham or east of that.
