Don't make the mistake others have and make your only vehicle a "full-blown" racecar, wait until you have something to drive to work after your car breaks on the weekends at the track.

I blew apart my stock engine while road racing, then bought a beater truck that could tow it before building it back up with a new engine. Mortgages have taken current priority, however. My bank owns me, literally.
That is very true and great advice. You should be God to giving advice or something. ( Hope that doesn't swell your head TOO much ). I have thought about buying a beater so I can save my money up and buy stuff for my Cavy. Its a great looking car, just needs more to it. You know?

Thanks for the advice though. And I know my bank will own me soon also.

I think that will be my joy, breaking the car just to put the parts back together. I have always wanted to learn about cars, and now is the time to do it

I have a friend who "flips" very low priced, high mileage cars as beaters on the side. Most are around $1k. If seriously interested, I'll put you in touch with him. $1k is a good beater car price for basic transportation, any less and you may regret the quality.

I'll second that, but it is a good way to learn about your engine. You just don't wanna learn about it while you're driving down the road and your engine decides to grenade on you. I'm overall very satisfied with what I've done to my car so far.

I don't know what's wrong with yall, but I damn near want to cry everytime I destroy a $2500 transmission or a $5000 motor. When you see years of hard work and tens of thousands of dollars going up in flames, it changes your whole outlook on things.
