HVAC assistance needed (heat pump)
My heat pump HVAC went out, not sure why yet. Hardly ever use it and went to cut it on, nothing. Checked breakers, thermostat, etc. Thermostat clicks for the signal to be sent, no response from the heat pump on heat/cool/fan.
Anyone able to diagnose it as a side job? I'll try to get my refrigerant gauges from MD this weekend to check those levels, but if you don't mind stopping by and diagnosing it, probably a simple thing that I'm overlooking in my frustration.
Located off Woodman Rd in Glen Allen, across from Henrico County Operations Center.

I work at a shop, I could get a service guy out there today, no side work though, sorry.
Might be a capacitor, if it's a contactor you would probably hear a click, might be really low on freon and the system is cutting itself off.
What is it?

I suspect that it's really low on refrigerant, which is why I was going to grab the gauges this weekend. If someone is willing to stop by there for free (or trade for lift time), that would be much appreciated.
It's a Goodman unit, 13 seer, pretty sure it's a 1.5 ton unit.
There are breakers and switches all over. One in the 3rd floor HVAC closet, one in the breaker cabinet in the garage, one mounted on the outside near the exterior unit. All seem to be fine.
Will connect up a multimeter to the digital thermostat this evening to double check the it.
Didn't have much time to diagnose it last night and was too frustrated anyways.

Ok, well, if you want a service guy to stop by, give me a call, Acors HVAC, 745-0594, ask for Ben.
How old is it? Might want to call who installed it, might have some warranty to it besides the factory warranty, but being a Goodman, I doubt it. But we are Goodman dealers among other things, so we could get you set up.

richard, it was working fine in heat mode, but nothing in ac?
was your electric bill alot higher than normal while in heat?
if so, quite possibly low on refrigerant.

in the indoor unit, there is (should be) a 5amp auto fuse (like any other brown fuse you've probably ever seen.) check that.
if you have no response from the indoor unit in fan mode, start there. if it's blown, replace. if it's in tact, it may be a thermostat problem.
how old is the stat/system?

Thanks, will check the fuse. From what I remember from another unit, should be on the control board right inside the access panel.
Unit is less than 2 years old, has been used for maybe 24 hours total. It's the 3rd floor one, never gets used.

and you might want to also turn your breakers off, then back on after a few seconds.
and check your disconnects at each unit. be sure they're in the ON position (doubt they should be flipped, but it's worth lookin)
