its pretty much just a regualr ls1 then, right? the hp is about right but the torque is down from what a factory ls1 would make. i would prolly go for it though. its cheaper then a ls1 from gm too.

or you can find an ebay engine or junkyard engine for half that price.
hell, 4 years ago I got an entire 19,000 mile longblock for my car from Bruce Auto parts for $2800 delivered. assembled engine, intake to oil pan, plugs, starter included. you can find alot of the misc parts on the forums

i personally would not spend cash on a crate engine... there are two people in RPM who bought their complete running cars for that much. you can definitely find a wrecked car or just a drivetrain for 3000ish.

Yeah that seems a little high for what it is. I've sold numerous engine, trans, wiring, and pcm LS1 combos for around $3000 for an auto or $4500 for a 6 speed and they all had about 30-40k miles on them.
