those ACUs look expensive... and hot! I wouldnt want to be wearing those in Baghdad

and too much velcro for my taste. Somethings like your combat patch and flag will be on your whole carrier, so why velcro it on? Most of the Army's missions are show of force anyways, so unless you spec ops, you never take that stuff off anyways IMO.

The ACU's just top and bottom are $100 a set, the boots are 130+ a set and you need 2 pairs. The total issue is close to 1 grand.

They really arent hot at all, in fact cooler as stated by many.

They have velcro so you dont have to take it off, re sew it back on when you get new uniforms. Once it tears or you get another set, take it off and put it on the other. Less patches to buy along with flags too.
1 set of name tapes, flag, unit patch, combat patch and rank. Thats cheaper that having each for every set of BDU's you own

okay, that makes sense, but velcro doesnt look as sharp as the sew and you as a drill instructor have to recognize that. Cause there NOTHING better than a starched set of BDUs from the cleaners

Umm not these cleaners on post. These fuckers starch em so much I cant get my arm through the fucking sleeve. They have 1 starch setting it is a shitload of it.
