Fuck Chesterfield county treasurer
Motherfuckers are taxing my ass $1000 this year for my car property taxes. And 775 is that is for the lotus.....I really dont understand. My evo was worth 30k and I only had to pay 360. Did the taxes go up?

How much is the Lotus worth? How old was your Evo?
The way it works is this - the state will cover 70% of the $20,000 assment of the vehicle. After that, you are responsible for the rest of the taxes. So, since your Lotus is worth more than your Evo and it's newer, the taxes are going to be greater.
Basically, it's like this. I drive a 2001 Civic. It's worth less than $20,000 to begin with, so the state will cover the first 70% of the taxes on the assesment. So, to make it easy, we'll say the assesment is $1000. So, the state will cover $700 and I will have to pay the difference, $300.
(I know this because I used to work for the Treasurer in Virginia Beach.)

No fucking wonder its so high. Double taxation is a mutherfucker heh. First they charge you sales tax then tax your ass every year on it. This is one of the few states that does this BS. Makes me really wanna sell my car now

That sucks Terry. I just got my tax and going in to tell them i moved to Henrico and see if i can get last years money back being I was Mobilized for Endruing Freedom and didnt live in the county.
