There's some pretty big names in Ford engine building/drag racing lending out opinions here...

There seemed to be differing opinions. Sounds like an American 'Ferrari' engine might be impractical.

Right on. It might be cool to have a 9,000 rpm destroked windsor, but as I always say, making horsepower means moving air and you can do it one of two ways. More volume or more rpm. In the end, going with more volume and keeping the rpm down is just cheaper, more reliable, and more practical. With that said, I love the look on people's faces when I tell them I've got a 7500 rpm 5.0L.

I love RPM's.....

My new motor is supposes to be turned like 8000 or so... I am only doing about 7000 now....

No sound is beter than a small block on the top end over 7500 rpm's....

So what are your thoughts on it? Any particular reasons you went with that combination? How long has it been together? What kind of expenses were involved in building the motor to rev to that kind of rpm? And mainly...why?
