If you pull rear S2000 fenders they buckle/dent really bad.
Mike, your best bet is going to be 215s all around.....actually what model tires are you running out back? Depending on that, a 215/45/17 Federal is just about the same size as a 225/40/17 (which you will not find).

A 215/45 is not much smaller then a 235/40, they're the same height.
He could probably just run more camber but he's likely to have more grip with less camber and a smaller tire then run on 2" of a 235.
