powder coat oven, DIY
wrong section? if so moderator please move i think it is supposed to be somewhere else? eye candy or w/e now is so conufusing
okay, im not a skilled welder, in fact, i bought my welder 2 days ago before i started this. so before you flame my welds, lol. remember im a extreme novice
powder coat, i woke up and decided to start a small service for people, to make some cash, and do my shit
but NO ONE, has a big enough oven
picked up a free double oven off craigslist
and thats the compressor ill be using to spray, ill buy a kit soon
and yes its a eletric oven!
i kept the oven for a good week, cause i dont have a welder, nor know how to weld.
so i picked this up for 120 dollars
made a few mistakes but im getting it down
so much welding wire came with it haha
i spent 120, on gloves, welder, mask, tips, all that wire, anti splatter spray? etc.
practicing welding, getting a feel from different metal thicknesses, then banging the sculpture up to see how good it holds

Re: powder coat oven, DIY
THIS PART, is JUST, from the oven guts, after unbolting it apart, it has like double the sheetmetal to make a good sized frame
i will be doing supports and possibly a insulation layer
the right side will have a viewing window made from glass
welding sheet metal sucks! so far its just tacked together, ill be sealing it up soon
this morning i added the start of supports. my welds suck. they hold though im trying to get better, butt this sheet metal isnt the thickest
most deffinetly entertaining a insulation layer to retain some sort of heat
ugh i need sleep or something, im exausted no sleep sucks
fell asleep around noon. and woke up around 7, and did some more work
will be using the other door on the bottom if it fits, or ill extend the one on there
and the pole across is where ill be hanging shit
the welding is slowly getting easier
and the swivels. hold the door,so i say im doing a decent job
the parts with the poles, ill be welding thicker sheet metal, so it will retain heat, an leave 1 inch space between the sheetmtal, and the inside thicker sheet metal

haha, you got to do what you have to do, it will turn out niceley, i might spray the oven down black with grill paint when im done. so far i have spent almost nothing minus the welder
i think, im going to cut the right side, and use the other oven door, to mirror the door i have up now

Re: powder coat oven, DIY
thanks, i plan to spend, 150 dollars on a eastwood kit, and another 50 or so of thicker sheet metal, like 1/8 inch or quarter inch
im familiar with paint though, i work at a paint store
the wood frame you see it on, i have stone paint, basically stone, in paint form, like cement. and i am painting the wood with the rock so i can leave it on the wood frame
and then from habitat for hummanity ill buy those industiail roller wheelz for the bottom
