Awesome man, can't wait to see how this turns out.
Respect, going against the grain is more rewarding in my opinion.
What kind of suspension is in the rear, not struts I assume.

The anniversary edition that I posted previously has been brought back to stock and will be sold soon.

My bright blue 98 has not changed much (changed wheels but that happens often), but I finally got some slicks and ran a 12.8x@107. Still have not reinstalled the supercharger.

Toward the end of last year I was able to find a clean 1st gen (the only rwd maxima), it was dirty but in over all good shape and very minimal rust.

I cleaned it up and fixed some little stuff. While I had it down I rebuilt the front end and installed eibach springs from a 280zx and kyb struts. Here is how it sits now

The car runs well, but pretty much everything I have is an ongoing project so of course I want more power. So I picked this up from the Hampton Roads area to use as a doner vehicle.

I will be using the engine (l28et) and rear end r200 from this car, the rest will be sold as parts before being scrapped if anyone needs anything. I have not figured out my power goal for the car yet, but the current plans are to start around 200-225 hp and go from there.

I have other wheels and tires for this maxima too, but I have not installed them yet. They are the enkei apacheII
Wanna buy a 6th gen? Lol, very nice cars!

OP, You really need to turn your rep on.

I can really appreciate what you have going on here and can`t wait to see what happens with that first gen. For some reason i keep imaging it with a set of shakotans.

It has a strut with a coil spring. It uses a replaceable cartridge, held into the strut housing with a gland nut. Suspension wise it is pretty much the same set up as a 280zx. It also has 4 wheel disc brakes like the 280zx. But the engine was different, the maxima comes with a l24 and the 280zx comes with a l28. The doner car that I got is a 1982 turbo 280zx (l28et).

Thanks man, and possibly. The mileage of your car scares me but I could put another engine in it pretty easy, and fix all the other stuff...just not sure if I want the work right now. PM me your best price on the car and I will let you know if I want to come look at it.

I am not sure how to turn my rep on...I'm all ears

Yeah, that wheel is very popular with Datsun people, I like it too. I really like the look of the ApacheII though, plus I wanted a staggered set (15x7 and 15x8) and the apacheII comes with offsets that I think will work well with out needing to stretch the tires. I have a fender roller so I intend on at least rolling the rear fender lips, I am hoping I don't need to do anything in the front but we will see.

with work and family I contribute about as much as I can. I sold the 95 to a friend of mine in Chesapeake probably about 4 or 5 years ago now. He sold it soon after I sold it to him, so it may still be down there...I don't know. When I sold it to him it had stock SE 5 spoke wheels.

That car is my baby. It's currently just sitting in my garage. I think I only drove it twice last year. For some reason reverse decided to stop working with no warning, and I have not had a chance to really dig into it. I have been focusing more of my time and money into getting my garage built at my house (building in the back ground of the first gen) and not so much on my cars. Once the garage is "finished" I will have more time and resources to dedicate to my cars.
