I am planning on something similar but I will be moving the shifter pivot up further into the car and lengthening the bottom instead of just lengthening the bottom. How much shorter of a throw does it feel like? Do you have any more photos of your car?

Looks pretty decent for something simple, You need to spray that metal on the floor board lol or put some carpet back in the car or something! Looks pretty clean better than most i have seen for DIY.
