Ford unveils twin turbo Cobra Jet Concept...

Re: Ford unveils twin turbo Cobra Jet Concept...
Homemade as opposed to a bunch of Ford motorsports engineers with a development budget and analysis tools.
You're basically saying "OMG, there's no compliance there, it's all going to break", and I'm saying that there is very clearly a bunch of compliant joints right there which are very capable of controlling the engine movement with stiff motorsport engine mounts.

I'm just not understanding how you can say that with so much certainty just by looking at a few pictures.

My assumption (while we're making assumptions from the pictures) is that they're not idiots, and they would have used a bigger hump hose which can take higher offset and axial misalignment if they needed to.
The header motion won't be very big either, the headers aren't very far away from the engine mount axis so the relative motion won't be very much. Obviously the farther away from the mounts, the more the motion will be amplified. Those bellows can flex quite a bit, so I don't see any problems. I actually thing the thermal growth of the headers is probably greater than the engine movement.

Re: Ford unveils twin turbo Cobra Jet Concept...
Cobra Jet's are not street legal, they don't even have a VIN. I have only seen one in person myself. An unmarked 18-wheeler came to my work at 6:30 in the morning, dropped the gate, and there was two rows of mustangs (Shelby, Cobra Jet, Etc.). My gm drove it off the truck, it sat in the showroom for a week, and the owner came and picked it up in a trailer. That was it, never have seen another in person.

Holy balls!
Here's one on the bumper, then into the wall at Cecil County Dragway.
