These are a few of the pictures I took during my motor swap/rebuild that I finished about a year ago.
Here is a video from the night I realized my Z was not running properly. The tranny wasn't shifting right and the compression felt like a Honda. Races 6 to 9 are me versus my friend's N/A.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhU5tzooFwE It turns out my compression was not only not within spec of each cylinder but each cylinder was also below the threshold. This led me to begin my swap/rebuild.

And here was the video of me first starting it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KsvuXU9Hpyg And here is a video of a friend (I let him test drive the Z since he played a huge role in this rebuild) pulling her back into the garage after her first test drive.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8h_mEmeMzOw I wish I could say it was all a piece of cake getting the bugs worked out. We hooked up the timing light and saw that I was at 35 degrees. My Blazt also showed me at 1,500 RPM's and 5.64v for the TPS. We got the TPS dialed in but my idle and timing were still high. We adjusted the CAS clockwise but it maxed out and I was still at 30 degrees. The idle screw was also maxed out. Turns out, my throttle cable was too tight so it was under constant throttle. We loosened it and I popped right to 15 degrees. After disconnecting and reconnecting my TPS, I went to normal idle and all was well in the world. It sounds easy but it was a major pain and I was semi freaking out wondering if I forgot something.
These were some pics from a few days after I had her buttoned up. I managed to give her a bath and then drove to a nearby parking lot with a friend who came over.
